ERS Congress Amsterdam

This year's European Respiratory Society Congress will be held in our homeland, The Netherlands. In Amsterdam we will present our new MoveMonitor analysis, that now also comprises a cycling detection and a stair climbing detection, all based on one sensor on the lower back! So, gaining insight in your patient's physical activity will be even more specific.

The newly developed cycling algorithm distinguishes cycling from other (cyclic) activities with an F-score of 88.7%. Our MoveMonitor is the first trunk worn activity monitor capable of identifying cycling. Comparative research, including asthma patients, COPD patients and healthy controls, shows that cycling should be promoted more as a worthwhile way of transportation over distances from 0-20 km.

3 abstracts were submitted in the context of the development of our cycling detection, all of which were awarded with a Poster Session:

Sunday 27 September 12:50 - 14:40 Thematic Poster: “Latest insights in pulmonary rehabilitation and functional capacity” Chairs: Z. Louvaris & R. Mesquita
“Why detection of cycling is important in activity monitoring” by R. Van Lummel

Tuesday 29 September 10:45 - 12:45 Poster Discussion: “Best abstracts in physical activity in chronic lung diseases” Chairs: H. Watz
“Walking and cycling in patients with asthma and COPD” by R. van Lummel
“Cycling detection with a single activity monitor” by S. Frouws

We hope to welcome you at booth 1.G06 or at one of the Poster sessions!
