KNAP

KNAP stands for Knee Arthritis Prevention: disease management supported by objective monitoring of physical activity and counseling. The project implements this concept into the program of 4 physiotherapy practices which meet high standards of quality ('pluspraktijken'), selected by Hollands biggest care giver Achmea. The goal of this project is for patients to gain insight in the improvements that can be achieved with respect to their illness, limitations and participation by using a conservative intervention. Additionally, the goal is to improve assignment of health care with an accent on primary health care and self management by the patient. Other partners are the Faculty of Human Movement Sciences in Amsterdam and EMGO and the whole project has a duration of 2 years.
